Vegan KoyaTofu Karaage with Tomato Flavor

KoyaTofu is filling enough without chicken!

Ingredients ( 2 servings)

  • KoyaTofu (Diced) : 6 pieces
  • [A] Tomato juice: 30g/ Water: 15g/ Grated garlic: 3g/ Sugar: 1g (1/3tsp) / Salt: 0.8g (a scant 1/6 tsp)
  • Black pepper, Dried crushed basil: to taste
  • Potato starch, Frying oil: as needed

How to cook

  1. Put [A] into a bowl, add the KoyaTofu, and mix gently. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the seasoning.
  2. Add black pepper and dried crushed basil to the bowl, then coat each piece of KoyaTofu evenly with potato starch.
  3. Heat frying oil to 180℃, and deep-fry until crispy and golden brown.
    *If using an Air fryer, mix potato starch and flour in equal parts instead of using only potato starch.
